Samsung Multi-Mirror
⌝ Speculative design exploring interactive ambient artwork systems ⌞
How might the art within our homes exist as a playful reflection of our presence through multimodal inputs & cross screen multitasking?
Multi-Mirror is a speculative design collaboration with the technical teams at Samsung, exploring interactive ambient wallpaper systems for future TV and mobile interactions.
FutureDeluxe were commissioned to investigate the creation of a modular ambient art system that can be modified by a wide range of home inputs; everything from multi-user presence, to audio, to cross-screen connections and mobile touch interactions can be used as variables to influence the work.
Base System
↓
The base system is designed to operate ambiently in anti-gravity with each stylised data-block indicative of the types of content the user & household have been engaging with.
Physics, structures, colour, forms and materials are all modified based on the inputs from the technology being used in the home and around the artwork, influencing its look and behaviours on the fly.
Cross Screen Interactions
↓
Through wireless streaming technology, a mobile device automatically connects when it gets close to the TV, allowing various mobile interactions to stream simultaneously to affect the artwork ↓
User Variation in Artwork Styles
↓
Formal and material qualities are designed to be interchangeable. Each user can adopt their own style while the system retains its core functionality.
